Most customer conversations begin simply: someone calls or sends a text with a few photographs and vehicle details. The website does not currently offer customer accounts or an online contact form. This policy is written around that practical, photo-first process.
Information you provide
You choose what to share when asking about a repair or arranging service. Depending on the conversation, that may include your name, telephone number, email address if you choose to provide one, general location, vehicle year, make and model, a description of the damage, photographs or videos, scheduling information, and the contents of messages or calls.
Please send only information reasonably needed to discuss the vehicle and requested service. Initial inquiries should not include Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, copies of identification, medical information, or other sensitive personal records.
Vehicle photographs and videos
Photographs and short videos can help us understand where damage is located and whether it appears suitable for the cosmetic services described on this site. They are an initial screening tool; they do not always show the vehicle’s full condition.
A vehicle image can incidentally capture a license plate, home or workplace, street address, personal belongings, a person or reflection, another vehicle, or other identifying details. Before sending an image, look at the whole frame and crop, cover, or retake anything you do not want included when doing so will not hide the damage we need to see. Do not intentionally include sensitive information unrelated to the repair.
Submitted images are used to review and respond to the inquiry and may be retained with legitimate service or business records. They are not treated as permission to publish your vehicle or use the images in advertising. Separate permission should be obtained before customer-submitted images are used publicly for a gallery, before-and-after feature, social media, or other marketing.
Text messages and calls
When you call us, text us, send vehicle photographs by text, or ask us to communicate by text, we necessarily use your telephone number and the content of the communication to respond, review the inquiry, and discuss potential or scheduled service.
The site’s text links are intended for customer-initiated repair inquiries and service-related communication. They do not enroll you in a recurring promotional text program. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. You may ask us to stop text communication at any time, including by replying STOP; we may still communicate through another appropriate channel about an active service matter when reasonably necessary.
Telephone numbers and consent to receive text messages are not sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. Mobile carriers and communications providers may process calls and messages as part of delivering those services under their own terms.
Website and technical information
The website itself does not currently ask visitors to create accounts or submit information through a web form. Like most websites, however, the hosting and network systems that deliver it may automatically process basic request and diagnostic information. That can include an IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, date and time, referring page, approximate location inferred from an IP address, and information used to diagnose performance, availability, abuse, or security issues.
How information is used
Information may be used to:
- respond to questions and service requests;
- review photographs and determine whether visible damage appears to fit the cosmetic repair scope;
- request additional details or recommend an in-person inspection;
- communicate about potential, scheduled, or completed service;
- provide customer support and maintain appropriate business records;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
- identify fraud, misuse, or security concerns; and
- meet legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations.
Sale of personal information
Cosmetic Auto Repair does not currently operate as a data broker, sell customer inquiry information, or use submitted repair information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Customer SMS consent and telephone numbers are not sold to third parties for their marketing. If those practices change, the policy and any legally required choices should be updated first.
How long information is kept
There is not yet a single fixed retention period for every record. Communications, photographs, and service information may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to the inquiry, provide or document service, maintain ordinary business and tax records, address warranty or dispute questions, support security, and satisfy legal or insurance obligations. Different records may require different periods.
Information that is no longer reasonably needed should be deleted or securely disposed of when practical, subject to backups and records that must be preserved. A formal retention schedule should be adopted as the company’s final operating procedures and systems are established.
Data security
Reasonable administrative and technical measures may be used to protect information in light of its nature and the systems involved. No website, mobile network, email system, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use care when choosing what to send, and contact us promptly if you believe a communication concerning your inquiry was misdirected or accessed without permission.
Privacy choices and requests
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights concerning access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. You may also ask a general question about how your information was handled or request that text communication stop.
Call or text us using the contact details below. We may need enough information to identify the relevant communication and reasonably verify that the request concerns you. Some records may need to be retained when required by law or for legitimate business purposes. Nothing in this section claims that a particular privacy statute applies when it does not.
Children’s privacy
The website and repair services are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information online from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information, they may contact us so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
Third-party links and services
The site may link to a telephone, messaging, map, social, or other third-party service. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. This policy does not control how a mobile carrier, device provider, browser, or external website handles information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised as the website, communications tools, or business practices develop. The date at the top will be changed when a revised policy is posted. Material changes should be communicated in another reasonable way when required by applicable law.
